SHARDENDU DWIVEDI -ROLL NO. 38

                                                     Life Processes

Ques: What are the different types of life processes?

Ans: The following are the different types of life processes:-

  1. Nutrition
  2. Ingestion
  3. Excretion
  4. Respiration
  5. Reproduction
  6. Digestion
  7. Transportation
  8. Assimilation
  9. Absorption
  10. Growth
Ques: define autotrophic nutrition.

Ans: In this mode of nutrition the organisms prepare their food
from raw materials such as carbon dioxide, sunlight, etc.some
plants of the group are insectivorous.examples are all plants
         with chlorophyll.
Ques: define heterotrophic nutrition.

Ans: A type of nutrition in which energy is derived from the intake         and digestion of organic substances, normally plant or animal           tissues. The breakdown products of digestion are used to                   synthesize the organic materials required by the organism

Ques: What are the various steps of photosynthesis.

Ans:Carbon and energy requirements of the autotrophic organism          are fulfilled by photosynthesis. It is the process by which                  autotrophs take in substances from the outside and convert                them into stored forms of energy. This material is taken in the          form of carbon dioxide and water which is converted into                carbohydrates in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll.

Carbohydrates are utilised for providing energy to the plant.             The carbohydrates which are not used immediately are stored in       the form of starch, which serves as the internal energy reserve         to be used as and when required by the plant. A somewhat               similar situation is seen in us where some of the energy derived       from the food we eat is stored in our body in the form of                   glycogen.events such as Absorption of light energy by                     chlorophyll, Conversion of light energy to chemical energy and       splitting of water molecules into hydrogen and                                   oxygen,Reduction of carbon dioxide to carbohydrates.
Ques: what are the functions of stomata.

Ans: the following are the functions of stomata:-
  1.   it helps in gaseous exchange.
  2.   it also helps in transpiration.
  3.  it also facilitates the process of respiration in plants
