Difference between starch and sugar ?
Simple sugar and starch are part of a large group compound known as carbohydrates.
Sugar are mono saccharides or single unit of specific molecules such as glucose and mannose. The sources are sodas, cakes, etc.
Starch on the other hand are polysaccharides , long chain of chain of singke sugar molecule and the sub units linked together. The sources are rice, bread and potato etc.

The human saliva contains an enzyme called salivary amylase which digests the starch present in food into sugar.
What is the ph of mouth
Different people have different ph of mouth. Normally the healthy people have 7 ph of mouth. Ph below 6.5 indicates mouth decay.
What is the function of HCL, mucus, gastric juice secreted in stomach ?
Function of HCl -due to the hydrochloric acid the gastric juices is acidic in nature. Thus the functions of it is to make the medium of gastric juices acidic.
Function of mucus- The mucus helps to protect the stomach walk from its own secretion of hydrochloric acid. If mucus is not secreted , hydrochloric acid wil cause the erosion of liniing of stomach leading to the formation of ulcers in the stomach.
