LIFE PROCESSES

Q1- What are the different types of life processes?

A1- Some different life processes are:-
  1. Respiration (includes exhaling and inhaling)
  2. Digestion
  3. Excretion
  4. Movement
  5. Growth
  6. Reproduction

Q2.Define heterotrophic  nutrition

A: The mode of nutrition in which living organisms depend upon others for food is called heterotrophic nutrition.

Q3. Define autotrophic

  • those organism which made their food themselves is
              called autotrophic.

Q4. What is the different function of stomata?

A:

 a. Stomata help the plant to exchange gases during the process of                                                  photosynthesis b. It also help the plant in the process of transpiration and therefore the plants                             are able to control their water storage

ACTIVITY

study the peristaltic movement in food pipe

Materials required:

                                                                lump of wet soil
                                                                 bicycle tire tube
                                                                  pair of scissors

    procedure

  1. take a tube and cut the tube from one end.
  2. put the soil in the tube.
  3. Then try to move the soil downward by the method of contraction and expansion
  4. Do the same method ,to move the soil downwards

    1-where does light reaction occur?

The light reaction occurs in the chloroplast present in the leaves.

    2-what is grana?

A structure within the chloroplasts of plants that contains the chlorophyll and is the site of the light reactions of photosynthesis.

3- write the equation for the dark reaction which is known as kelvin's reaction

    3 CO2 + 9 ATP + 6 NADPH glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate + 9 ADP + 8 Pi + 6 NADP

What is the function of salivary of amylase?Ans - it breakdown the carbohydrates into the simpler form.

    Q. What is the PH of mouth?Ans- 5.5 is the PH of mouth.

    Q. Function of mucus,H CL,  gastric juice?

Ans-hcl - it breakdown all the particle which enter into the stomach through foodpipe.     mucus- it stop the lining of the stomach .

ACTIVITY: TO SHOW THE BURNING OF MAGNESIUM RIBBON

    Material required:

     1) Magnesium ribbon

     2) Sand paper

      3) Matchbox

    METHOD:

     1) Rub the magnesium ribbon with sand paper to remove the layer of magnesium oxide

      2)  Burn the magnesium ribbon.

    *  OBSERVATION:  the ribbon burn with dazzling white light

    * CONCLUSION: the white powdery product formed is magnesium oxide.

IN  THE FORM OF CHEMICAL EQUATION:
       2  Mg (s)  +  O2 (g)    2 MgO (s
